Advice NI Volunteer Update

As an organisation committed to the vision of a confident, informed society of active citizens who can access their rights and entitlements, Advice NI recognises the invaluable contribution of volunteers.

Volunteer contribution offers the organisation an opportunity to extend our services enriching the community we work with.

Advice NI are delighted to welcome Laura McDonald who has recently joined the team as Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Advice NI and Laura in particular are currently working with Advice NI members, staff and the board to develop and deliver a Volunteering Strategy. This approach aims to create a function within our current services to help with the development, growth and sustainability of new and existing volunteer advisors and other volunteer opportunities within the Independent Advice Network.

Over the next few weeks Laura will be undertaking a short scoping exercise to establish a baseline of volunteering activities across the Independent Advice Network. The hope is to secure a clearer picture of the number of volunteers working with us, their roles, highlight gaps in provision and identify areas were Advice NI can best offer support.

Laura will be working alongside the Volunteer Working Group (VWG) to help drive this work forward and to support members to actively participate in the continued development of the volunteering approach.

Members and staff can expect to hear from Laura soon but in the meantime you can contact Laura via email at Laura@adviceni.net or on the office number 028 9064 5919
