IN2 Engineering Ltd has accredited as a Living Wage Employer

IN2 is a progressive engineering consultancy with offices in Belfast, Dublin, Athlone, Berlin and London. They specialise in MEP design, building services and sustainability solutions. They make better spaces for people.

IN2 is dedicated to delivering low energy design from conceptual stage, handover and beyond. Integral in their approach is a combination of specialist expertise in innovative passive design, sustainability and building simulation techniques.

Becoming a Living Wage accredited employer was motivated by IN2’s commitment to fairness, equality, and social responsibility. They believe that every employee deserves a wage that meets their basic needs and allows them to live with dignity.

Speaking of their Living Wage Accreditation, Martin Revilles Associate Director of IN2 Engineering Belfast said,

“Offering a Living Wage helps us to attract skilled and motivated employees. It reduces turnover rates, as employees are more likely to stay with a company that values their well-being.

Financial insecurity can be a major source of stress. Earning a Living Wage ensures our employees can afford a decent standard of living, where they are able to meet their basic needs such as housing, food and transportation, all of which contributes to better mental health and overall well-being.”

He went on to say, “The Living Wage accreditation enhances our reputation as an ethical and responsible employer. It helps us to support a diverse workforce by providing opportunities for individuals from different socio-economic backgrounds. This enhances our company culture and brings a variety of perspectives to our workplace.”

Mary McManus Regional Manager of Living Wage NI said,

“We are delighted that IN2 Engineering Ltd has become an accredited Living Wage employer. They join a growing movement of almost 100 employers in NI who together want to ensure workers have what they need. We hope to see many more employers follow their example.”

In NI, 15.6% of all jobs are paid below the real Living Wage which equates to 19000 jobs and is almost the third highest out of all the UK regions.

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate calculated according to the costs of living. Employers choose to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis, recognising the value of their workers and ensuring they have enough to cover basic living costs.
