Mindwise launches Mental Health and Money Advice Service

Mindwise recently launched their Mental Health and Money Advice Service in Northern Ireland. It is part of the Mental Health UK’s two year charity partnership with Lloyds Banking Group in Northern Ireland.

Mental Health UK is a charity which brings together four organisations who have worked in mental health for over 40 years – Rethink Mental Illness (England), Support in Mind Scotland, Hafal (Wales) and Mindwise. Colleague fundraising at Lloyds Banking Group is geared towards helping them establish a pioneering advice service dedicated to helping people understand, manage and improve their financial and mental health. It will be aimed at the millions of people across the UK whose mental illness ends up causing them financial difficulty and those whose financial problems can cause mental ill health.

The service, Mental Health and Money Advice offers two levels of support:
  1. A website available to everyone providing a wide range of downloadable information and tools
  2. A referral only Adviceline which offers free and impartial expert advice from a small but dedicated team of trained mental health and money advisors located in each nation across the UK
They have created a short animated film detailing the advice and support available, which you can view here

After an enormous amount of work over the last nine months, during which they have consulted closely with many organisations and experts in the field they launched their website on the 28th November - www.mentalhealthandmoneyadvice.org.

At the moment they are piloting the Adviceline with Mindwise internal referrals only.

Advice NI member will be able to make referrals to the MHMA Service early in 2018.

Once the referrals are open, Sinead Campbell will contact the members to pass on the information on how the referrals can be made.
